Summary

The City of Santa Monica ("the City") is seeking bids for a five (5) year, firm-fixed contract to provide towing and roadside services for light and medium-duty vehicles, for heavy-duty vehicles and for components. Towing services are required to various locations within the City and to vendors both within and outside the City. Roadside services will include, but are not limited to, tire changes and battery jumps. Other services will include, but are not limited to, spill containment and cleanup, stocking an inventory of select wheels on rims for in-field replacement, impound towing services for the City's Police Department.

The City of Santa Monica’s Public Works, Fire, Police, and other departments operate continuously, placing significant stress on the City’s fleet of heavy-duty, medium-duty, and light-duty vehicles. When these vehicles break down, they may be towed to a City facility for maintenance and repair, or directly to a vendor for serious repairs that cannot be handled at a City maintenance facility. Reliable and responsive towing services are crucial to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the City’s departments. In addition to towing services, Contractor must carry absorbent and oil cleaning supplies to manage spills if needed. To maintain clean and safe public spaces, Contractor must be knowledgeable about proper spill containment and cleanup procedures.
