Full description
Derelict and abandoned vessels pose significant environmental, navigational, and public safety hazards. These vessels can damage sensitive habitats such as seagrass beds and oyster reefs, leak fuel and hazardous materials, and obstruct waterways used for recreation and commerce. The County, in coordination with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), maintains an active program to identify, document, and remove derelict vessels in compliance with Chapter 705 and Section 823.11, Florida Statutes.This RFQ seeks to establish a contract with one or more qualified marine contractors capable of performing safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible vessel removal operations, including the transportation and proper disposal of vessel debris, fluids, and materials in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Work will be assigned through the issuance of a Task Order based on Contractor’s availability, ability to adhere to project schedule, performance on previous tasks, and amount quoted. Each Task Order will provide a detailed Scope of Services, fee and schedule.
