Full description
The John R Jones sports complex is an existing Escambia County major athletic park located at 555 East Nine Mile Road in Pensacola Florida. The park boasts a total of 21 baseball/softball fields, a stadium field for football and large practice fields for multiple sports. The Tourist Development Council approved the funding for the John R. Jones turfing project in the amount of $25,000,000 at their meeting on April 15, 2025, and subsequently the Board of County Commissioners on May 1, 2025. These funds shall be used primarily for the synthetic turf replacement of the existing fields as well as any upgrades to the existing facilities infrastructure system to support the park. The primary focus will be the design and implementation of the supporting infrastructure of the park and coordination with the engineer of record from the Design Services of John R Jones Stadium Complex Upgrades re-solicit.
