Summary

Mohave County, on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, is seeking proposals from qualified respondents to provide Inmate Medical Claims Administration for the Adult Detention Center (ADC). All proposals are due before 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The Mohave County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is constitutionally required to provide healthcare services to prisoners in the ADC, located at 501 S. Hwy 66, Kingman, AZ. The healthcare claims for providing these services exceeds $4 million annually and the County utilizing a third-party medical billing service for managing claims has demonstrated a tremendous reduction in costs paid on claims. The MCSO is seeking a contractor with experience in inmate medical claims administration in Arizona detention centers. The current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2026.The ADC has a capacity of 728 inmates, with an average daily population of 388 in 2025.

The following historical information is intended to aid the respondents in developing their responses.On average, there are 86 claims filed each month using between 6 to 12 different providers.The ADC had an Average Daily Population of 388 in 2025, with over 7,700 inmates being housed at the ADC each year.
