Summary

In general, the work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals for construction of the following work:Construction of a Chemically Enhanced High Rate Treatment (ECEHRT) Facility consisting of rectangular Settling Tanks, Contact Tank, Utility Tunnels, and an Operations Building; concrete conduits and channels to convey flow from the existing combined sewer overflow channel (CSO 001) to the new CEHRT Facility and from the new CEHRT facility back to CSO 001; a Diversion Structure; a Drain Pump Station with drainage pumps, sludge collection and pumping systems, flushing systems, chemical storage and feed systems, and appurtenant electrical, instrumentation and controls to provide complete and operational systems.Construction of a connection to the Euclid Creek Tunnel / Dugway Storage Tunnel (ECT/DST) system in the Control Structure Easterly Plant (CEP) area of the project, which includes a deep excavation baffle drop shaft structure and tunnel adit to connect to and convey flow to the existing ECT adit stub; a gate and screening structure and conveyance conduit to direct flow from the Diversion Structure, and appurtenant electrical, instrumentation and controls to provide complete and operational systems.Work disciplines shall consist of site/civil, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, process mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical.This work is listed in detail in Section 01 11 00, Summary of Work.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (Sewer District) protects public health and the environment by leading effective wastewater and stormwater management. As the largest wastewater treatment provider in the State of Ohio, the Sewer District spans 380 square miles, serves 62 communities and one million residents, treats 90 billion gallons of wastewater a year, and manages more than 400 miles of streams. In addition to its award-winning treatment plant and laboratory performance, the Sewer District's Project Clean Lake construction program will reduce annual Lake Erie pollution by 4 billion gallons by 2035, while its Regional Stormwater Management Program addresses widespread inter-community problems like flooding, pollution, and erosion.
