Full description
This project is a maintenance dredge project for Santa Rosa County. The navigation channel of interest is the Santa Rosa Channel, as identified on US Nautical Charts and the US Light List (Volume IV). The channel connects Mullatto Bayou / Archie Glover Boat Ramp to Escambia Bay. The proposed dredging operations will return the navigation channel to the previously permitted depth and width. The dredging elevation is -5.5 NAVD88 (-5.83 MLWL), and the channel bottom width is 30 feet. The work also includes the replacement of 8 existing wooden piling-supported Private Aids to Navigation along the access channel based on U.S. Coast Guard Light List coordinates. The existing Private Aids are currently dated, damaged, or missing. The dredging operations will be conducted using hydraulic methods. The basis of design in the project plans uses a settling-basin configuration.
