Summary

Washington County is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced consultant firms to conduct a comprehensive Jail Expansion Feasibility and Visioning Study for the existing Washington County Jail located in Hillsboro, Oregon.The primary objective of this study is to review work that has been done to assess the current and projected needs of the County’s correctional system and to develop strategic recommendations for facility expansion. The study will assess the feasibility of expanding the existing jail to meet long-term public safety and community service requirements, while considering operational efficiency, costs, and alignment with modern correctional practices.

Full description

The Washington County Jail opened in 1998 with a maximum capacity of 572 adults in custody (AIC). A Jail Capacity Study to assess future needs was completed in 2025 and is expected to be the starting point for this project.
