Boone County Water Expansion Group 3.2

Summary

The Boone County Fiscal Court is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to perform construction services for the Boone County Water Expansion – Group 3.2 project.The engineering design for this project has been completed. The scope of work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, traffic control, restoration, and incidentals necessary to construct the waterline improvements in accordance with the County-provided construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.The project consists of installation of water mains, valves, hydrants, appurtenances, culverts, pavement restoration, driveway restoration, and associated improvements necessary to complete the work as shown in the construction documents.This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is intended to identify a qualified contractor to construct the project in accordance with all plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Full description

The Boone County Fiscal Court has indicated its desire to pursue the further extension of public water service in currently unserved areas of the County. This builds upon past projects to extend water service throughout the County. Staff evaluated neighborhoods where public water mains are in close proximity to streets currently without public water service and prioritized streets to be initially considered for water main extension based upon density and proximity to an existing water main, as well as, available resources. Neighborhoods that were prioritized for the next phase were offered the opportunity to confirm their interest in the project through a commitment to utilize the new public water system. The County is funding the expansion project and will partner with the Boone County Water District, Bullock Pen Water District and City of Walton Water Department to plan, engineer, design, construct, and operate these new water main improvements.
