Summary

The City of Fort Myers (“City”) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified, licensed, and experienced contractors to provide full demolition services for the existing City of Palms Park Stadium, located at 2201 Edison Avenue, including all associated structures and site features, in accordance with this solicitation. This contract will include demolition of all site improvements, hauling of all debris to an appropriate disposal site, site grading to ensure positive drainage and seeding of existing site to ensure full coverage and stabilization within 90 days.

Full description

The City of Palms Park Stadium was designed in 1992, constructed shortly thereafter, and opened in 1993 as the spring training home for the Boston Red Sox, a role it served until 2011. The existing facilities are now used for the City's Parks and Recreation Department. The City of Palms Park Stadium site is a sports complex that includes a multi-story baseball stadium, batting cages, a storage building, sidewalks, and parking areas. The buildings are constructed mostly of concrete block on a poured concrete slab foundation. The multi-story building is approximately 60,000 square feet with approximately 6,900 seats.
