Summary

The City of Newark, NJ will receive bids via the City's e-Procurement Portal for 2026-005, Pedestrianization Safe Street Project-Package B. Bids will be received until 10:15 am on Thursday, February 26, 2026 and then publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid received after 10:15 am shall not be accepted in the ProcureNow system.Only electronic bids shall be accepted. NOTE: It is important to note that this process should be completed well in advance of the bid deadline / bid opening. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. The City's electronic procurement portal will not allow electronic bids to be submitted once the deadline has passed, even if you've already started the process. The deadline is based on the countdown timer found on the OpenGov bid submission page.

Full description

The City of Newark is requesting proposals for improvements to local roadways to increase pedestrians safety. The Package B project will provide new pedestrian crosswalk configurations, minor reconfigurations to traffic and parking lanes, pedestrian protection measures, and bike lane modifications. Package B includes improvements at University Avenue and Orange Street, at University Avenue and James Street, at University Avenue and Central Avenue, and at Central Avenue and Halsey Street, as per the attached plans.
