Summary
The City of Norfolk (the City) is seeking one or more qualified contractors to provide In-Home Residential Services on an as-needed basis for individuals receiving services from the Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB).
Full description
Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities often need help to live successfully in their communities. While many are eligible for Medicaid funding through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), there is a waiting list for these services. To bridge this gap, Virginia provides state funding to local jurisdictions to offer residential support for individuals awaiting or who are not eligible for Medicaid funding. The DBHDS defines In-Home Residential as a “residential service that takes place in the individual’s home, family home, or community settings that typically supplements the primary care provided by the individual, family, or other unpaid caregiver and is designed to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the individual.”The City aims to retain one or more qualified contractors to provide In-Home Residential Services. These services are designed to build skills in daily living activities and ensure the health and safety of individuals in their homes.
