Summary

Glenarm Power PlantThe City of Pasadena produces approximately 8 million gallons of demineralized and deionized (purified) water annually at the City's Glenarm Power Plant for use in electric power production. The technology used to produce and maintain this water includes reverse osmosis (RO), degasification and ion exchange. This solicitation seeks a qualified vendor, with subject matter expertise in water purification technologies, to support the power plant's water treatment processes.

Glenarm Power PlantThe City of Pasadena Glenarm Power Plant consists of five natural-gas fueled combustion turbines (GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4 and GT5) equipped with generators that produce electrical power. GT5 is also equipped with a once through steam generator and steam turbine. Purified water is produced at the Glenarm Power Plant for the following uses:Injection into the gas turbine engine combustors to suppress oxides of nitrogen (NOx) in the engine exhaustInjection into the low or high pressure air compressors to enhance power output (Spray Intercooling)Makeup to the GT5 steam condensate cycleCleaning of energized power linesThe Glenarm Power Plant Gas Turbines, and water treatment processes, operate intermittently and seasonally in response to peak electrical power demand as shown in the table below:
